2019 Toby Bekkers Grenache

Tasting: This wine presents a reserved nose, exhibiting a shy demeanor akin to a wallflower. Subtle hints of blackberry fruit and syrupy spice briefly grace the tightly-wound palate. Medium-bodied with low to medium powdery tannins and moderate acidity, it suggests potential for development with time. Despite a double decantation two hours prior, the wine remains somewhat closed. However, the medium to long finish provides a promising hint of longevity. This appears to be a rather serious expression of Grenache, defying typical expectations associated with Australian examples of the varietal.
